No-Cost Smoke Remediation Assistance for Eaton Fire Survivors

This form is for Altadena and Pasadena renters and homeowners whose standing homes have been affected by smoke and/or ash damage from the Eaton Fire. Our goal is to help these communities connect with the remediation assistance they need. These services are free, but please note that we unfortunately have limited resources and due to demand we may not be able to assist every applicant.

How do we help?

We offer several free remediation services:

Structural smoke remediation (this does not include HVAC cleaning)
Personal item/property remediation
Free Air Purifier distribution

What is smoke remediation?

Remediation is not the same as cleaning. Remediation is decontamination from smoke, ash, and soot damage caused by the fire. Full remediation would include the interior structure of your home as well as your personal goods.

The services offered is performed by a team of experienced workers who have been specifically trained in smoke remediation and are equipped with necessary PPE and appropriate equipment and supplies.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE OR HANDLE CONTAMINATED MATERIALS WITHOUT PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

Our Process

STEP 1 - INTAKE

Our project manager will reach out to assess your needs and explain the remediation process.

STEP 2 - SAMPLING AND WALKTHROUGH

Our team will take a sample of ash to conduct an absestos test to determine if it is safe for our team to work in your home. Please note that this is intended to assess the safety of your home for our workers, and should not be an indicator of your personal risk. We will meet you at your home to collect the sample and conduct a walkthrough of the home.

STEP 3 - REMEDIATION SCHEDULING

After we have received the results, we will send them to you and schedule your remediation.

STEP 4 - DISPOSAL OF UNWANTED ITEMS

Our team will start by helping you dispose of items that are unable to be remediated (such as large soft goods) and items that you would like to dispose of. The remediation service includes free trash hauling of unwanted or unusable items.

STEP 5 - REMEDIATION OF PERSONAL ITEMS AND HOME

Our team will begin remediation. For your safety, occupants are asked to not be present during the remediation, especially without full PPE. If you are currently living in the contaminated home we can connect you with support for alternative arrangements while the work is ongoing. If you are remediating your structure and your personal belongings, this can take up to a week depending on the size of your home and the volume of personal contents that need to be remediation.

We unfortunately are not able to provide or operate moving trucks on behalf of the owner, but can support with loading cleaned items.
