To be considered by the MFA:NW jury, artists must have graduated with an MFA degree from a Northwest (AK, BC, ID, OR, WA) institution between January 2024 and July 2026. Artworks must be complete at the time of submission and created within the past two years, not necessarily as part of thesis work. Artworks may be in any medium, including sculpture, painting, print, installation, and mixed and expanded media.

These ideas are meant to be expansive. Materiality might include substance, media, tactility, opacity, or value. Memory could refer to personal histories, group consciousness, cultural legacy, or dreamed realities. Connection encompasses interpersonal, natural, physical, psychological, or global ideas. Creativity around these ideas is encouraged.

The MFA:NW exhibitions and conversations happen in rural communities throughout Oregon. The programming at each site supports our mission of creating connections and fostering conversations between dispersed art ecologies and recent MFA graduates, which is mutually beneficial.
