WHAT:
Join the Town of Hillsboro and Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance (LIRA) for an invasive plant identification and removal training led by experts from Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a local environmental consultancy. Invasive plants are a growing threat to the environment and native wildlife in our area. Learn how to identify the most problematic invasive plants and use appropriate removal methods. During the event, participants will identify and/or remove invasive plants, including invasive trees (Tree of Heaven, Callery/Bradford Pear); invasive vines (English ivy, Honeysuckle, Asiatic Bittersweet); and invasive bushes (Multi Flora Rose, Wineberry).
WHEN:
Sunday, May 17: 10:00AM - 1:00PM
WHERE:
We will meet in the Hillsboro Old Stone School located at 37098 Charles Town Pike, Hillsboro, VA 20132. There will be signage to help direct you. Please park in the adjacent Hillsboro Charter Academy parking lot.
