    Review the two viewpoints of Option 1 for the Ruth Circle playground. 

    Option 1 includes a playground design featuring a large, multi-level play structure with slides, climbing walls, overhead monkey bars and rope elements. Swing options include three standard, one accessible and one toddler swing. The ground surface includes both wood chips and accessible safety surfacing in key locations.

    Option 2 playground design featuring a central rope-climbing tower with multiple vertical and angled climbing elements. Attached components include a slide and curved climbing bars. Swing options include three standard, one accessible and one toddler swing. A zip line play feature is unique to this design for ages 5-12. Ground surface includes both wood chips and accessible safety surfacing in key locations.

  • Recommendations for the redevelopment of Ruth Circle Park include:

    • Replace playground equipment meeting broader range of challenge levels and age groups
    • ADA compliant playground surfacing (engineered wood fiber)
    • Improve basketball half court
    • Optional: paved rink for multi-season use (remove existing half court with this option)
    • New picnic shelter with 4-6 tables and permanent restrooms
    • Optional: include an indoor room for rentals and warming house
    • Site furnishings with common characteristic (benches, tables, receptacles, bike racks, drinking fountain, etc.)
    • Loop trail system and added walk connections for improved accessibility
    • Optional: four parallel parking stalls along building for improved accessibility
