Registration Open from May 1st - June 30th (Online Only)

Late registration is permitted only in cases of approved extenuating circumstances
Parents must be registered members of St. James Catholic Church. New parishioners, please contact the Parish Office to complete your Parish Registration prior to registering children for Faith Formation. Grandparents or other guardians should not register children for Faith Formation unless they can provide legal custody documents or a signed and notarized letter from both parents allowing child to undergo Religious Education at St. James.

Permission is always needed from both parents for a child to receive a Sacrament or Religious Education.

Weekly Classes: September 2026 - May 2027

Students attend class weekly.
- Sundays 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM (English or Spanish)
- Wednesdays 5:30 PM - 6:45 PM (English)
- Thursdays 5:30 PM - 6:45 PM (Spanish)
Requirements:
- Open to PreK-12th Grade (if student turns 18 during the school year and is seeking Confirmation, they will need to join Adult Confirmation classes instead)
- PreK - 7th Grade and Confirmation Year 1 (includes Baptism and First Communion) - Tuition $75/student
- Confirmation Year 2 - Tuition $100/student
Family Faith Formation: September 2026 - May 2027

Families will gather once a month on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 PM to share in education and fellowship. Families are equipped with take-home packets to cover the rest of the month's material at home with their family.

Requirements:
- Must be in PreK - 8th Grade
- PreK - 7th Grade and Confirmation Year 1 (includes Baptism and First Communion) - Tuition $75/student
  Confirmation Year 2 - Tuition $100/student
How to Register:
- Submit this Online Registration Form (one per child)
- Provide a copy of your child's Birth Certificate - required even if you have submitted it to St. James in the past (due to software/process changes)
- Provide a copy of your child's Baptism Certificate and First Communion Certificate (if applicable) - required even if you have previously submitted them (due to software/process changes). If the sacrament was administered at St. James and we have the record in our system, you do not need to submit a certificate for that sacrament.
- Submit payment (payable online by credit/debit card or by cash or check at the Parish Office)
  - Child will not be enrolled until payment has been received in full
  - Contact the Parish Office for a Financial Hardship Form if needed
  - Students in PreK through 7th Grade and Confirmation Year 1 (includes Baptism and First Communion): $75/student
  - Confirmation Year 2: $100/student

In the Diocese of Charlotte, Sacramental Preparation is a two-year process.

First Communion is available for those 7 years or older who are Baptized and have completed 2 years of Faith Formation (Typically Year 1 is done in 1st Grade and Year 2 in 2nd Grade).

Confirmation is available for those 8th Grade or older who are Baptized and attended two consecutive years of Faith Formation (Typically Year 1 is done in 7th Grade and Year 2 in 8th Grade)

Please contact the Parish Office to schedule Baptism for children under 6.5 years old. Childen age 6.5 or older require one year of Faith Formation before Baptism.
