For students entering 4th-6th grade
Pine Center for the Arts is excited to be back for another summer of art activities! Registration is for all four days.
Monday and Tuesday, celebrate creativity and history in this fun, two-session summer painting class designed for students in grades 4–6! Led by local artist Lisa Olson at Pine Center for the Arts, this class invites young artists to explore painting through the theme of America 250.
Students will learn foundational acrylic painting techniques such as color mixing, brush control, and composition while creating artwork inspired by American history, symbols, and stories. One featured project will include painting on a 10x10 canvas, giving students a special piece to take home and display.
With step-by-step guidance and room for individual creativity, each student will build confidence while expressing their own ideas in a supportive and engaging environment.
Wednesday and Thursday, students will be creating a red, white, and blue journal! Students will be able to doodle, draw, and document all summer long with this keepsake art journal packed with creative pages and memory-making fun that they make under the direction of Julie Anderson during Pine Center for the Arts Intermediate Age Summer School.
Throughout the summer, each student will be able to fill their journal with stickers, doodles, drawings, photos, and summer treasures—and create a one-of-a-kind time capsule from Summer 2026: The Summer America Turned 250!
Students will also help create art to hang in the Pine Center for the Arts windows throughout the month of July.
