    NCPERS is now accepting speaker and presentation proposal submissions for the 2026 Public Safety Conference, taking place October 25–28, 2026 in Nashville, TN! As the only national event dedicated to the unique challenges of public safety pension systems, NCPERS Public Safety Conference brings together nearly 400 trustees, administrators and staff, state and local officials, service providers, union officers, and regulators from the U.S. and Canada biannually in October.
  • DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS IS JULY 31 at 6PM ET.

    NCPERS Public Safety Conference offers tailored programming that provides quality education to public safety pension trustees, administrators, staff, union officials, and local elected officials.

    The program covers topics ranging from investment management and plan design to the demands of leadership in crisis and emergency management. Sessions cover topics that differentiate public safety workers from other publicsector
    employees.

    Topics being considered include, but are not limited to:

    • Addressing Unique Challenges to Administering Public Safety Plans
    • Reducing and Managing Stress for Public Safety Personnel
    • Developments/Improvements to Evaluation Disability Claims
    • Latest in Health Care Impacting Public Safety
    • Sustainability of Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP)Plans 
    • Cybersecurity and Data Protection for Public Safety Pension Systems
    • Financial Wellness and Retirement Readiness for Public Safety Personnel
    • COLAs, Benefit Adjustments, and Inflation Management Strategies
    • Governance and Fiduciary Responsibility for Public Safety Pension Boards

    Selected speakers are expected to adhere to the following policies:

    • Membership: Presenters' organization(s) must have an active NCPERS membership to be considered. To verify your membership status, contact us at 202-601-2445 or email membership@ncpers.org.

    • Registration: Confirmed speakers are required to register for the conference. For more information on registration fees, please visit our registration page. Please note CorPERS members receive one complimentary speaker registration pass.

    • Presentation Content: Presentations must be educational in nature and may not be promotional. Content should be objective, informative, and designed to provide practical value to attendees rather than promote a specific product, service, or organization.

    • Speaker Commitment: Speakers are required to participate in all scheduled preparation calls and planning meetings leading up to the event.

    • Presentation Materials: Speakers must submit final presentation materials by the specified deadline. All content should be original and tailored to engage and inform our audience.

    • Engagement: We ask that speakers consider using interactive elements to keep the audience engaged and facilitate learning.

    • Compliance: Speakers must abide by all event policies, including those related to promotion, content, and diversity and inclusion.
