2026 Governors Island Run to Remember

The Governors Island 30th Anniversary Committee is hosting a Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember on Saturday, August 1 at 12:00 noon and all guests are invited to participate in this free-of-charge event.

The course follows a 3K loop around Governors Island, starting and finishing at Liggitt Hall.

Please join us to honor fallen Coast Guard heroes and to support the Coast Guard Foundation tragedy assistance program.

You can honor Coast Guard Heroes and their sacrifice by purchasing a 2026 commemorative t-shirt.

The classic Run to Remember T-shirt is heather gray and features Coast Guard Members who have died in operational, line-of-duty service are named in a red, white, and blue flag on the back. In order to receive the shirt prior to the Governors Island Run To Remember we ask that all orders are placed by 7/15. If you would prefer to have the shirt available for pick up on August 1, please note that in the “Special instructions for seller” section of the shopping cart when you order your shirt.

Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember – Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I hereby waive all claims for myself, my heirs, and my estate against all race officials, organizers, sponsors, the Coast Guard Foundation, the City of Rockland, affiliated partners, agencies, volunteers, and event staff for any injury, illness, or loss which may result from my participation in this event.

I understand that participating in a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I certify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to safely participate. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, weather, traffic, course conditions, and other hazards.

I also grant full permission for the Coast Guard Foundation and its agents to use photographs, video, or other media that may include my image or name for legitimate promotional or informational purposes related to this event, without compensation.

As the parent or legal guardian of the minor named below, I hereby consent to their participation in the Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember. I affirm that the minor is in proper physical condition to safely participate. I accept all terms of this waiver and assume full responsibility for the minor’s participation.
