The Tennis & Racquet Club is honored to host the 2026 Kendrick Cup, 2026 US Professional Singles, and the Pro/Am doubles racquets event. This promises to be a wonderful weekend of camaraderie and highly competitive racquets.
Kendrick Cup
The Kendrick Cup, established in 1958, is one of the premier developmental tournaments in North American racquets. Originally conceived to support emerging players within the North American Racquets Association, it evolved into a novice-only singles championship named in honor of a Detroit figure instrumental in the sport’s early growth. Today, it serves as a key entry point into competitive play, drawing new talent from clubs across the U.S. and Canada and providing a proving ground for players in their first few years—many of whom go on to compete at the highest levels while carrying forward the game’s strong tradition of club camaraderie.
Eligibility:
- Must have fewer than three years of experience playing racquets
- Must not have reached the final of any NARA-sanctioned tournament
- Limited to two lifetime entries in the Kendrick Cup
- Must be a member in good standing of the North American Racquets Association (NARA)
The weekend has been made possible by NARA, Jester's Foundation, and the Thomas C. Shumaker Racquets Foundation, all with a vested interest in supporting the racquets professionals.
Entry fee is $350 which includes tournament entry with marked matches, Thursday evening stag dinner, Saturday lunch, Sunday brunch, a tournament shirt, and option fill-in tennis doubles.
Tournament entry deadline is May 15th @ 6pm EST.
