Which category are you making a nomination for?* This field is required.For questions, please contact our office at admin@gab.org ANGELO DITTY-FRANK MCLEMORE CRITERIA BACKGROUND Established in 2013, the Angelo-Ditty Frank McLemore Engineering Award recognizes broadcast engineers who over their careers have displayed outstanding leadership and contributed significantly to Georgia’s broadcast industry. Named for Angelo Ditty, who worked for the GAB as its chief engineer until 2012, and Frank McLemore, who worked for the GAB as its chief engineer following Ditty, and tragically passed away in 2017. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION 20+ years as a broadcast engineer, with at least half of this time spent in Georgia Professionalism among colleagues Willingness to help and train other engineers in support of our industry GOLDEN MIC CRITERIA *Must be a member of the GAB Board of Directors to make a nomination* BACKGROUND Recognizes those individuals who, through their efforts and support of broadcasting, have made a lasting impact on the GAB and Georgia’s broadcasting industry as a whole. The Golden Mic recipient can be a broadcaster, politician, business leader, industry leader, or state leader. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION Can be a native of Georgia, or migrated to Georgia, and made a significant impact to the Georgia broadcasting industry as a resident or leader Has close connections with broadcasters at a local and/or state level & involvement with the GAB GEORGIAN OF THE YEAR CRITERIA *Must be a member of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters to make a nomination* BACKGROUND The Georgia of the Year (GOY) was established in 1964 and is considered to be a premier award of the GAB, slating an impressive list of recipients. Politicians, business leaders, sports figures, military and philanthropic leaders are among those who have been recognized with the award. While primarily given to an individual, it has been given to groups or teams also. This variety of background demonstrates the unique character of our state and recognizes the role Georgia plays, past and present; and beyond our own borders. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION Qualifications are broad and general. Many recipients have long records of sustained success or the reaching of a specific milestone. Others have a specific achievement or performance that stands out. A strong connection to Georgia and its communities Can be a native of Georgia, or migrated to Georgia, and made a significant contribution to the state as a resident and leader The achievements can be in business, politics or community service
