  • Vintage Wings Restoration Camp Application

    Camp Dates Saturdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM starting July 11th 2026 through August 15th 2026 As Vintage Wings Restoration Camp interns, students will do basic collections care including aircraft maintenance and corrosion control, restoration techniques, and painting/finishing. The main project will be rebuilding the bomb bay doors for the Museum's TBM Avenger aircraft. Under supervision, the interns will learn how to fabricate aluminum aircraft components which includes learning the following skills: Project and time management, Research and group problem solving, Basic woodworking skills for form and tooling fabrication, Basic welding and grinding, Metal working for component fabrication, Metal parts assembly and riveting, Surface preparation and painting, Hand tool usage, management, and techniques, Power tool usage, safety, and techniques, Aircraft restoration processes and techniques. The time schedule will be once a week, Saturdays from 9AM – 2PM with a lunch break. A lunch stipend will be provided with the Museum’s on-site weekend food vendor.
