  • Thank you for your interest in joining Alumni Facilitation and Leadership Academy. This free virtual training program is designed for alumni of the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative (JCSVEI) who are interested in building core facilitation and leadership skills, and strengthening their confidence and capacity to guide communication and collaboration across different contexts. 

    Through Soliya’s internationally-recognized training model, participants will build off of their JCSVEI virtual exchange program participation to deepen essential professional skills like negotiation and managing group dynamics. The training will also offer an opportunity for alumni to meet fellow JCSVEI from across the world through collaborative sessions. Participants will receive a professional certification upon completion of the training.

    In order to be eligible for this training, applicants must: 

    1. Be an alum of a J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange program. 
    2. Be at least 18 years of age. 
    3. Complete this application in its entirety. 
    4. Commit to full participation in this program. This program will take place from June 1, 2026 - July 20, 2026.
    1. Weeks 1–4: Asynchronous learning, requiring approximately 3 hours per week
    2. Weeks 5–7: Live engagement, including 3 live sessions (2 hours each), along with facilitation practices and feedback
    3. Weeks 5-6: The final course assessment

    Participants will be selected according to the strength of their application. We encourage applicants not to use artificial intelligence (AI) systems to generate answers to short-answer questions – we value your authentic voice. 


    The Alumni Facilitation and Leadership Academy is implemented by Soliya and is supported by the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative (JCSVEI). JCSVEI is a U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs program administered by the Aspen Institute.

    As part of the application process, you are required to indicate your availability for the training sessions through the Doodle poll below.

    Instructions for Completing the Doodle Poll

    • Select at least 3 time slots: You must choose a minimum of three options. Selecting more increases your chances of being placed in a group that fits your schedule.
    • Training schedule: Sessions take place between Sunday and Thursday, within the time window of 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (UTC). Each session lasts 2 hours.
    • Check your time zone carefully: The Doodle poll should automatically display times in your local time zone, but please make sure it is correctly set (based on UTC).
    • Select all times that work for you: The poll shows options for the first week only, but your availability should reflect your ability to attend sessions consistently throughout the full training period.
