• IHS Distance Learning Course Task Force

    Application

    The International Hearing Society (IHS) is seeking IHS Members that are experienced in hearing aid fitting and dispensing and passionate about education and training to volunteer for the IHS Distance Learning Task Force.

    The Distance Learning Task Force, chaired by Patricia Connelly, PhD, CCC-A, will be responsible for developing the new IHS Distance Learning for Professionals in Hearing Health Sciences course. The task force will be formally overseen by the International Institute for Hearing Instrument Studies (IIHIS – IHS’ Education Committee) and work closely with IHS staff. IHS is dedicated to convening a diverse group of volunteers that represents various industry perspectives and positions including but not limited to: type of clinic; associated brand(s); geography and practice setting; individual role; and years of practice.

    • Distance Learning Course Task Force Job Description

    Time Commitment: 2.5 years beginning mid-2026. Most meetings will be conducted virtually with scheduling set based on volunteer availability. One or two in-person meetings are possible in 2027. In-person meetings will be announced and scheduled well in advance, with travel expenses reimbursed by IHS in accordance with the IHS Volunteer Travel Policy.

    Appointments: 

    Per the IHS Bylaws, volunteer appointments are made by the IHS President with consensus from the Board of Governors.
