    Please fill out the audition form below. Complete the form by scheduling your audition slot.

    Beginning with the 2025-2026 season, ALL auditions will move to 30-minute time slots of ten people or less.

    Performers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their time slot.

    Auditions are closed, which means only those auditioning may be in the house. Anyone - including all parents, grandparents, siblings, and/or legal guardians - who is not signed up for the audition in that particular time slot is to remain in the lobby until the audition process is finished.

    Auditions are appointment only; you must schedule your appointment below to finalize this audition form and secure your spot. 

    Show Dates: July 24 - August 2, 2026

    Mandatory Dates: July 18-19(Q2Q), July 20-23 (Tech Week), July 24-August 2 (Show Dates/Pick Up/Strike). Availability throughout the rehearsal process may affect casting.

    Location: 238 S. Clay Street, Gastonia NC, 28052. Parking is adjacent to the building.

    Show Rating: PG for violence, adult content/language

    This show requires an ensemble cast of 10+ performers of all race, sex, gender, sexuality, nationality, and experience level. The casting team is looking for a diverse group of performers across the board.

  • AVAILABLE ROLES 

    Quasimodo: Male presenting. The deformed bell-ringer of Notre Dame and Claude
    Frollo’s charge. Lonely and staunchly obedient to Frollo, he possesses
    a vivid imagination that brings to life the bells and gargoyles of the
    cathedral. Despite his shyness and uncertainty, he quickly befriends
    Esmeralda. Big-hearted, and brave when need be.
    Age range: 18-30
    Vocal range: Bb2 - Bb4 (tenor)
    Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

     

    Esmeralda: Female presenting. A beautiful and free-spirited Romani woman who possesses the strong sense of justice and morality that Frollo lacks.
    Compassionate, she frees Quasimodo from the frenzied mob at the
    Feast of Fools and, against her better judgment, falls for the cocky
    Phoebus.
    Age range: 18-30
    Vocal range: Eb3-Db5 (mezzo/soprano)
    Dance Ability: Experienced dance ability

     

    Dom Claude Frollo: Male presenting. Archdeacon of Notre Dame Cathedral and the most powerful cleric in Paris, he is the reluctant caretaker of Quasimodo.
    He will do whatever it takes to rid the city of the Roma “vermin,” even
    as he lusts after Esmeralda. Calculating, manipulative, and obsessive.
    Does have to say racial slurs involving the Roma people.
    Age range: reads 35+
    Vocal range: E2 - D4 (baritone)
    Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

     

    Clopin Trouillefou: Male presenting. The clever and charismatic King of the Roma. An air of mystery surrounds Clopin, who often leaves the scene in a puff of
    smoke. As the master of ceremonies for the Feast of Fools, he is witty
    and playful, but he boasts a darker, serious nature when not
    performing for the crowd.
    Age range: reads 30+
    Vocal range: C3-G4 (tenor/baritenor)
    Dance Ability: Standard-Experienced dance ability

     

    Captain Pheobus de Martin: Male presenting. Returning to Paris after serving in the war, Phoebus takes up his new position as Captain of the Cathedral Guard.
    Overconfident yet charming, this handsome, strong soldier makes the
    ladies swoon, yet his moral compass is also strong, and he openly
    defies the corrupted Frollo.
    Age range: 20-30
    Vocal range: Ab2 - Ab4 (tenor/baritenor)
    Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

     

    Jehan Frollo: Male presenting. Claude’s reckless younger brother. With Florika, he
    fathers Quasimodo, who he leaves in his brother’s care. Wild,
    passionate, and strong-willed.
    Age range: reads 30+
    Vocal range: G#2-Eb4 (tenor/baritenor)
    Dance Ability: Standard-Experienced dance ability

     

    Florika: Female presenting. A Romani woman and Quasimodo’s mother.
    Age range: 20-30
    Vocal range: mezzo/soprano
    Dance Ability: Standard-Experienced dance ability

     

    Father Dupin: Male presenting. A priest of Notre Dame and Claude and Jehan’s guardian
    Age range: reads 30+
    Vocal range: baritone
    Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

     

    Lt. Fredric Charlus: Male presenting. Lt of the Cathedral Guard and loyal friend to Phoebus..
    Age range: 20+
    Vocal range: any
    Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

     

    Saint Aphrodisius: Male presenting. A stained-glass image that comes to life.
    Age range: 20+
    Vocal range: baritone
    Dance Ability: Minimal dance ability

     Mainstage productions do not have any fees associated with auditions and/or callbacks. 

    *If cast, performers ARE required to provide the following:

    -Shoes (unless otherwise noted). Depending on the production and the character, this can include sneakers, boots, dress, character and/or jazz shoes.

    -Make-up (unless otherwise noted). 

    -Undergarments (unless otherwise noted). This includes but does not exclude: underwear, undershirts, bras, socks, hoisery, dance belts, dance shorts and/or nudies, depending on the production and character.

    *If cast, performers MAY be asked to provide the following:

    -Costume Pieces: which are usually pants or common staple pieces performers already own. If performers do not already own the piece but decide to purchase it, they own that piece unless they choose to donate it. If performers do not already own the piece and do not want to purchase it, they will not be required to do so.

    -Accessory Pieces: if the performer already owns accessories that are needed in the script or desired for costuming purposes, such as jewlery, hats, wigs, purses, etc. - they may be asked to bring those in. The performer is not required to purchase these pieces. 

    *If cast, and the show has RENTED MATERIALS (specifically scripts, librettos, and/or music books), performers are required to put down a $50 script deposit. This fee will be held until rented materials are returned in proper condition and then given back to the performer. 

    -Script deposit are due at the first rehearsal. 

    -Script deposit can be taken via credit card number on file, personal check, or cash in an envelope with the performer's name on it. 

    -Script deposit are kept locked in the office until strike.
