  • Articles of Faith

"What if we Prayed?" holds to these traditional Christian Beliefs as an organization.
    1. The Bible: The Holy Scripture in its entirety is inspired by God’s Spirit through human authors and constitutes the revelation of God’s truth to humanity. It is wholly true and trustworthy in all that it affirms. Whatever the Bible, rightly interpreted, is found to teach, we are bound to believe and obey. It is our supreme authority in every matter of belief and conduct. (1 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20 – 21; 1 Peter 1:23 - 25)
    2. God: We believe in the existence of one true God, who has revealed himself to the world as 3 distinct persons the Father, as the Son, and as the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6: 4; 1 Timothy 3:16; Luke 3:22)
    3. Jesus: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, truly God and truly man, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-14)
    4. Sin: All human beings are created in God’s own likeness and therefore have inherent value and equality before God. Human sin and guilt since the fall have rendered us subject to God’s wrath and condemnation and have resulted in our alienation from God’s life, suppression of God’s truth and hostility to God’s law. God’s love desires all to come to repentance and to be reconciled rather than condemned. (Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23)
    5. Salvation by Faith: We believe in salvation by grace, through faith alone in the perfect and sufficient work of Christ on our behalf upon the cross of Calvary, excluding all human merit. (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 2:5,8; Galatians 2:16)
    6. The Gospel: We believe the gospel of the grace of God, how that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again for our justification. (1 Corinthians 15: 1- 4)
    7. The Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit, who has been sent in this age to glorify Jesus Christ, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell believers, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (1 Thess. 4: 3, 1 John 2:29, Romans 8:5, Philippians 2:12, Hebrews 12:14) We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers as a definite endowment of power for service and is subsequent to, and separate from, salvation. (Joel 2: 28, Acts 2: 4)
    8. Sexuality: The way of Jesus calls us to key distinctives in how we relate to our sexual formation. We believe that living in the way of Jesus means embracing His vision of faithfulness in sexuality. This practically looks like abstaining from all sexual relationships outside of the historic vision of Christian marriage expressed in whole life covenant union between a man and woman, avoiding pornography, inappropriate relationships that compromise our witness, and pursuing life giving holiness by the grace of God.
    9. Prayer: We believe Prayer is direct access to God because of Jesus and only through Jesus. As a follower of Jesus, we believe that we can talk to God by praying, and pray for other indiviudals. (1 John 5:14-15) Prayer is drawing on power through Jesus that is beyond ourselves (Ephesians 3:20) and Prayer is trusting God with our cares knowing that he brings peace (Philippians 4:6-7) Prayer is essential for fruitful Christian living. (John 15:4) and a ministry that Christians can participate in as through Prayer God can do miraculous things such as and not limited to God can bring healing. (James 5:14-16, and Matthew 7:7)

By signing below, I agree I believe and will embody the "What if we Prayed?" Articles of Faith.
