- What Type of Cruise Itinerary Interests You? For River Cruises, World Cruises, and Expedition Cruises, these are highly personalized experiences that deserve a one-on-one conversation. Please email me directly at shannon@grandadventuretravel.com and I will personally reach out to discuss these options with you.*

- Do You Require Connecting or Adjacent Cabins? Connecting cabins have a door between them allowing access without going into the hallway — great for families with young children. Adjacent cabins are next door to each other but do not connect.*
- Is Anyone in Your Party Traveling Solo? Most cruise lines charge a single supplement fee for solo travelers occupying a cabin alone. Some lines like Norwegian and Virgin Voyages offer dedicated solo cabins with no supplement.
-
- Are All Travelers US Citizens? A valid passport is strongly recommended for all cruise passengers regardless of citizenship. Some itineraries require a passport even for US citizens.*
- Do All Travelers Have a Valid Passport? Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. If anyone does not have a valid passport please let me know as this may affect itinerary options.*
- Will Anyone in Your Party Require Accessible Accommodations? Cruise ships offer accessible staterooms with wider doorways, roll-in showers, and other accommodations. Please let me know so I can ensure the right cabin is available.*
- Are Any Travelers Members of a Cruise Line Loyalty Program? Loyalty status can unlock onboard credits, cabin upgrades, priority boarding, and other perks.
-
- What Type of Stateroom Are You Interested In? Stateroom categories vary by cruise line but generally follow this progression from most affordable to most luxurious.*
- Do You Have a Stateroom Location Preference? Cabin location on a ship can affect your experience significantly. Mid-ship cabins have less motion and are most convenient. Aft balcony cabins have stunning wake views. Forward cabins are closest to the bow. Some stateroom categories are only located on upper or lower decks.
- What Bed Configuration Do You Need?*
- What Is Your Approximate Total Budget for This Cruise? Per party total including port fees and taxes but not including airfare to departure port. Onboard spending, shore excursions, and gratuities are additional.*
- Are You Interested in a Drink Package? Most cruise lines offer beverage packages that cover alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for a flat daily rate. Packages can significantly reduce onboard spending for guests who enjoy cocktails, specialty coffees, and sodas. Disney Cruise Lines and Virgin Voyages don't offer drink packages, but Virgin Voyages does offer another type of beverage program.
- Are You Interested in Shore Excursions? Shore excursions can be booked through the cruise line or independently. I can help you plan excursions at each port of call.
- Are You Interested in Travel Insurance? Travel insurance is strongly recommended for cruise vacations due to the non-refundable nature of cruise deposits and the cost of medical evacuation at sea. I can discuss travel insurance options after pricing of the cruise and other elements (hotel, airfare, etc.)*
-
- What Type of Dining Experience Do You Prefer? Traditional dining assigns you to the same table and waitstaff each evening at a set time. Flexible dining allows you to dine when and where you want each night. Most cruise lines now offer both options.
- Are You Interested in Specialty Restaurants? Most cruise lines offer specialty restaurants with an additional cover charge ranging from $20 to $60 per person. These are often the best dining experiences on the ship and worth the upgrade for foodies.
-
- What Onboard Activities and Amenities Are Most Important to You? Check all that apply — this helps me match you with the right ship and cruise line.
- Is Visiting a Private Island Important to You? Several cruise lines have their own private islands or beach clubs, on Caribbean itineraries — Disney has Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, Royal Caribbean has Perfect Day at CocoCay, Norwegian has Great Stirrup Cay, and MSC has Ocean Cay. These are often the highlight of the entire cruise.
-
- Are You Interested in a Pre or Post Cruise Hotel Stay? Arriving the day before your cruise and staying near the port is strongly recommended to avoid missing your ship due to flight delays. I can arrange hotel stays at or near your departure port.*
