Adaptive Boxing Program Petition
  • Adaptive Boxing Program Petition

  • We, the undersigned coaches, athletes, gym owners, and members of the boxing community, respectfully express our strong support for the development and national rollout of an adaptive boxing program for disabled veterans, including both physical adaptive boxing and Virtual non-contact boxing using Golden Gloves VR as a platform.

Boxing has long been a pathway to discipline, resilience, confidence, and community. For disabled veterans—many of whom face ongoing physical and mental health challenges—access to structured, inclusive training environments can be life-changing.

An official adaptive boxing program would:

    • Create safe, standardized training opportunities for athletes with disabilities
    • Expand access to certified coaching and inclusive gym environments
    • Provide pathways to competition, camaraderie, and continued personal growth
    • Support rehabilitation, mental health, and reintegration through sport

We believe the boxing community is uniquely positioned to lead in this space. Across the country, coaches and gyms are ready to participate, adapt, and support this effort—but national coordination and formal recognition are critical to ensuring consistency, safety, and scale.

    By signing this petition, we:

    1) Affirm our support for establishing a national adaptive boxing program for disabled veterans

    2) Encourage USA Boxing to formally collaborate with NXT Round and relevant partners to provide non-contact and accessible competion using Golden Gloves VR

    3) Advocate for the development of standards, certifications, and competitive pathways

    4) Signal our willingness to support implementation at the local level

This is an opportunity to extend the reach of our sport to those who have served our country—and to ensure that boxing remains a place where anyone, regardless of ability, can train, compete, and belong.

We urge USA Boxing and its partners to take action and move this initiative forward.

    Respectfully,
    The Undersigned
