  • Who can submit?
    You must: 

    • Be 18 years of age or older
    • Be a resident of Saskatchewan
    • Possess a current AGSC membership

  • Dates to Remember 

    • OCTOBER 16: entry deadline
    • OCTOBER 30 - NOVEMBER 6: artwork drop off during regular gallery hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 12-5 pm
    • NOVEMBER 13: show opens
    • DECEMBER 4: public reception
    • JANUARY 9, 2027: show closes
    • JANUARY 12 - 15, 2027: artwork pickup
  • What can I submit?

    • 2-dimensional art that can be easily hung on the wall such as paintings, drawings, tapestry, etc
    • 3-dimensional art to be displayed on a plinth, such as sculpture, jewelry, and pottery
    • ALL work must be ready for display (see below for guidelines).
    • Artwork must be NO larger than 48x48 inches.
    • All artworks and original craftworks must have been completed within the past five years.
    • Artwork that is submitted must NOT have been shown previously at Art Gallery of Swift Current or the West Wing Gallery.
    • Up to three singular artworks or three editions of artwork may be submitted per artist.
    • Reproductions, copies, or work made from a commercial kit will NOT be accepted.
    • AI generated images will NOT be accepted.
    • Artwork made in a class or workshop is permitted. 
    • The person submitting the artwork must be the creator of the work.
    • All artwork submitted must be for sale.
  • What is a singular piece?

    A singular piece of artwork is a single painting, drawing, or sculpture.

     

    What is an edition?

    An artwork edition consists of multiple identical or nearly identical art pieces (cards, prints, ornaments, pottery, etc).

    For example:

    • Print editions are multiple identical prints made with the same plate, linoblock, or wood carving. 
    • Ornament editions are multiples of the same style of handmade ornament. 
    • Pottery editions are identical multiples of the same object; same glaze, shape, and design.

    Editions may be open (no limit on the number of multiples) or limited. In the case of a limited edition, all artworks must include an edition number.

  • 2D Guidelines:

    Primarily two-dimensional works, framed or on a canvas that can hang from one or two nails. 

    • Work must be complete and ready for display.
    • Pastel and charcoal should be fixed with spray fixative.
    • Cannot exceed 48 inches in width or height.
  • 3D Guidelines:

    For small or unframed works that are better suited to a plinth. Artists displaying greeting cards, ornaments, unframed prints, or jewelry may be asked to provide their own display stands.

    • Work must be complete and ready for display.
    • Pottery that is not food safe should be clearly labelled as such.
    • Cannot exceed 20 inches in either direction.
  • Pricing Your Artwork

    All submitted artwork must be for sale.

    When pricing your work, consider the following:

    • the labour and materials invested in your work (including frames, canvases, etc)
    • what people may be likely to pay for artwork
    • how other participants are pricing their work
    • 20% of each sale will remain with the Art Gallery of Swift Current to support our programming.
  • Sales

    • By submitting your work, you are agreeing that 20% of any sales will go to AGSC. 
    • AGSC will handle sales of any artwork sold in the Members' show. 
    • AGSC will add tax to the price of submitted artworks. 
    • Please note that due to our privacy policy, we cannot provide purchaser information unless the purchaser gives explicit permission. 
    • You are welcome to provide business cards so buyers can contact you if they wish. 
    • If artwork is sold, AGSC will pay the artist 80% of the proceeds, paid by the City of Swift Current via cheque. AGSC will inform artists of any sales made, and cheques will be issued after the exhibition ends.
    • Please be aware that cheques can take a few weeks to arrive.

  • Delivering Your Artwork

    • AGSC will inform artists which artworks have been accepted into the Members' show one week after the application deadline. 
    • Artwork should be delivered to the Art Gallery of Swift Current at 411 Herbert Street East between October 30 and November 6 during regular gallery hours, 12:00-5:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
    • Please make sure that the back (or bottom) of your artwork has been tagged with the following information: Name, Title, Year, Materials Used, Price
    • For wall works, please label which is the top of the piece.
