  • What is Blue Jean Jacket Day?

As a counterpart to Red Dress Day, Blue Jean Jacket Day was first launched in Edmonton on June 6, 2023, by Stephanie Harpe and April Eve Weiberg, to raise awareness and significance of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Men and Boys. The day is observed on June 6 of each year to honor and raise awareness for those missing and or murdered in Canada. By wearing a blue jean jacket, individuals and communities bring attention to the disproportionate violence individuals may encounter.
