The Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation (CVHF) is a registered charity that supports the hospital, community-based healthcare, and non-profit long-term care. Our purpose is to raise funds to enhance quality healthcare in the Comox Valley.

Our volunteer Board of Directors provide thoughtful governance and strategic oversight of the organization. These dedicated individuals share a deep commitment to healthcare excellence and bring diverse perspectives, leadership experience, and a passion to serving their community.

We are pleased to invite interested candidates to submit an expression of interest by Friday, May 29.

2. Eligibility Criteria and Conditions of Nomination
a) Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

b) Applicants must reside within the Comox Valley region.

c) Employees of Island Health or the CVHF are not eligible for appointment to the Board.

d) Directors are expected to commit the time required to effectively perform board and committee duties. The anticipated minimum time commitment is approximately 1 to 2 hours per month.

e) Directors must fulfill the responsibilities of their position, including preparing for and attending board and committee meetings, upholding fiduciary duties, and working cooperatively and respectfully with fellow board members. Directors must comply with the Foundation’s bylaws, policies, and all applicable rules.

f) Directors must sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Confidentiality Agreement acknowledging and agreeing to their fiduciary responsibilities and adherence to Foundation policies.
