What to expect at Leonardo's Discovery Camp~
Leonardo's camp offers a consistent enriching experience for every camper with a balance of art, science, STEM, and play! Read below for some of the key differences.
Play breaks during each session
There will be two play breaks per session at either Adventure Quest or in the museum. Apprentices will be responsible for leading guiding play during these times, or be given a task to help campers complete. This is the primary leadership task for all Apprentices.
A focus on art techniques
Art lessons have the goal of introducing campers to different styles of art, art techniques, and the tools used in the process. At the end of camp, campers will come home with pieces they created during camp. Apprentices will help campers with techniques and assist the teachers and campers with clean up and supply management.
A focus on the scientific process
Campers will use their brains and their hands to solve problems and understand how and why things work. Apprentices will assist teachers with science projects and DIY activities with the campers. Apprentices will assist the teachers and campers with clean up and supply management.
A focus on leadership for apprentices
Certain days after sessions there will be a leadership activity with all Apprentices to develop skills in teamwork, communication, confidence building, and relationship building. All leadership activities will be 30 minutes or less and Apprentices will be dismissed after clean up and leadership activities.
