• About The Hope Welcome Center

  • The Hope Welcome Center is Non-profit Ministry providing a peaceful and safe place to stay while visiting incarcerated persons at the Baten, Clements, Dalhart, Jordan, or Mechler Units. We rely on monetary donations from local churches, local communities and our guests to sustain the day to day operations of the Hope Welcome Center. While we do not have a set fee or rate per night, a minimum donation of $30 per night is recommended. The goal is to donate what you can afford toward your stay and this cycle will ensure the longevity of the center.

    WE ARE OPEN FRIDAY 3PM - 10PM AND SATURDAY 8:00AM - 10:00PM Check is in Friday from 3:00pm - 10pm and Saturday 11:00am - 10:00pm.

  • HOLIDAY HOURS

    To allow our volunteers the time to spend with their families, we will close Sunday 12/12/26 at 11am and reopen Friday 01/08/27 at 3pm!
  • WE ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETELY BOOKED FOR THE WEEKEND OF 10/16 - 10/18 AND HAVE A STANDBY LIST IN THE EVENT SOMEONE CANCELS. WE HAVE ONE ROOM LEFT FOR THE WEEKEND OF 10/23-10/25. AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST, A VOLUNTEER WILL CALL YOU TO CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION.*

  • RESERVATION

    When you schedule your visit in the TDCJ portal you can request your stay with us. You can schedule your stay 5 weeks in advance. We do book at capacity. Please DO NOT wait for the unit to approve your special visit to reserve your stay. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to allow us a minimum 2 week notice to reserve your stay. Waiting for the unit to approve your visit before scheduling your stay could impact our ability to approve your reservation.
