Chef D'Equipe

Ahead of the 2026 Melbourne International 3 Day Event (4 – 8 June), Equestrian WA (EWA) and Eventing WA are seeking nominations for Riders, State Teams Competition (2* class riders) and also positions of Team Selectors (three to five position available) and Chef D’Equipe (one position available).

Please note, that both Team Selectors and Chef D’Equipe are voluntary positions ie Travel, accommodation etc. are at cost to the successful nominees.

Interested applicants must complete online nomination form and submit together with their résumé and other supporting documentation for consideration and appointment by a Sports Appointment Panel. The Sports Appointment Panel will consist of Discipline and Equestrian WA (EWA) representatives.

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of EWA, the respective Sport they are managing and the role of high performance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of athletes, either junior or senior, and any other support staff in the event environment.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement all team requirements including media and website requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to relate to athletes and coaches whilst playing an important role in team cohesion and discipline.
• Must hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Member of EWA.
• Hold relevant EA qualifications for relevant position (coach, etc.)

A conflict of interest arises when a person is serving or attempting to serve two or more interests which are not compatible.
It is essential that the positions be above any criticism of perceived or actual conflict of interest or bias.
Applicants MUST declare a conflict of interest in the following cases, but not limited to:

• If they are riders of horses with potential for selection.
• If they are owners or part-owners of horses with potential for selection.
• Are professional coaches, or instructors of potential Team members or other State teams.

A declaration to this effect will be required and made at time of nomination. The person with a foreseen conflict will be asked to leave the room for specific decisions surrounding the conflict.
