Rethinking Classroom Management: The Secret to Real Success

UTD Professional and Personal Learning Session
Whether participants are early career teachers or veterans, this session will provide ways to share classroom ownership by inviting students into the process in order to build a positive classroom community. The focus will be on ways to structure processes and procedures that honor student voice and choice as often as possible and emphasize shared ownership over teacher control. Participants will engage in discussions, role play activities, and lesson design activities that they can take back to their classrooms as they rethink traditional classroom management methods and transition to more inclusive and intentional strategies that build, nurture, and utilize the shared community.

*Some session locations are still TBA, however, once sessions are showing in the M-DCPS PLMS you may be able to make changes on your own.

*UTD does not maintain waiting lists. Once a session reaches capacity, additional participants cannot be added.

*If you withdraw from a session, you will not be re-registered.

*If multiple selections are made, you will be randomly registered for only one of your selections.

*Repeated withdrawals or no-shows from UTD sessions may impact future registration and participation opportunities.
