Reflective Planning for Effective Teaching

This session will provide an overview of how to connect the Instructional Performance Evaluation and Growth System (IPEGS) Standards to classroom practice and how to develop an appropriate Deliberate Practice Growth Target (DPGT). Participants will act as reflective practitioners as they explore the question: What is Effective Teaching? This will be done by examining the language of the standards, applying the language to various classroom practices, and by investigating the role of transparency in teaching. The session will also present some classroom practices found in Doug Lemov's book, Teach Like a Champion, and will provide opportunities for teachers to see how those practices might be used when demonstrating the IPEGS Standards.

*Individuals may sign up for ONE session only, and that selection cannot be changed, so please choose carefully.

*Some session locations are still TBA, however, once sessions are showing in the M-DCPS PLMS you may be able to make changes on your own.

*UTD does not maintain waiting lists. Once a session reaches capacity, additional participants cannot be added.

*If you withdraw from a session, you will not be re-registered.

*If multiple selections are made, you will be randomly registered for only one of your selections.

*Repeated withdrawals or no-shows from UTD sessions may impact future registration and participation opportunities.
