The Pump Operator is a half-day practical session, Firefighters will learn to operate the fire pump by drawing/drafting water from the water tank, a pressurized supply source (hydrant) and a static water supply source (portable water tank) and perform driving duties such getting water from a pre-determine site and delivering it to the pumping area while demonstration proper backing  techniques to fill a portable tank.

Opérateur d'autopompe est une session pratique d’une demi-journée qui va permettre à l'opérateur d’opérer la pompe incendie avec l’eau du réservoir d’eau du camion incendie, avec une source d’alimentation en eau sous pression (borne d’incendie) et avec une réserve d’eau statique (réservoir portatif) et aussi effectuer des fonctions de conduite tel que d'aller chercher de l'eau à un site prédéterminé et de la délivrer dans la zone de pompage tout en démontrant des techniques de recule appropriées pour remplir un réservoir portatif.

Documenting and preserving scene evidence with an overview of the hydrocarbon detection canine.  This half-day session will deliver a glimpse of what to document throughout the course of an investigation. It will also give some pointers on how to document important facts during the fire suppression and overall activity during a fire. The session will be based on a theory presentation in class and a hands-on session along with a demonstration of our hydrocarbon detection K-9.

Documenter et préserver les éléments de preuves avec un aperçu du travail d’un chien détecteur d'hydrocarbure.  Cette session d’une demi-journée va donner un aperçu de quoi documenter lors d’une enquête.  Des conseils sur comment documenter des faits importants lors de la suppression des incendies et des opérations de déblais seront aussi partagés.  La session débutera par une présentation théorique en classe et ensuite avec une session pratique accompagné par une démonstration d’un chien détecteur d'hydrocarbure.

 

Advance Fire Attack is a fast pace full day session, which will give qualified Firefighter’s tricks and techniques that will give them the upper hand when arriving first on scene of a structure fire. The first part of the morning will be done with no fire, teaching and given time to practice. This will be followed with the opportunity to practice what we delivered in a live fire environment. Students will have the opportunity to take part in an above grade fire, bellow grad fire and some other special situations that could potentially happen when fighting a structure fire.
This will be a high pace stand and students that register for this must come mentally prepared to work hard and properly hydrated. 

Attaque avancé d’incendie est une session pratique à rythme rapide d’une pleine journée,  qui donnera aux pompiers qualifiés des trucs et des techniques qui seront utiles lorsqu’ils seront les premiers arrives à un incendie de bâtiment.  La première partie du matin sera effectuée sans feu, afin de permettre l’enseignement et la pratique.  Suivi d’une opportunité de mettre en pratique ce qui fut enseigné dans un environnement réel d’incendie.  Les étudiants auront l’opportunité d’attaquer un incendie de bâtiment au-dessus et au-dessous du niveau du sol en plus de certaines situations spéciales qui peuvent arriver lors d’un incendie de bâtiment.
Ça va être une session à rythme rapide et les étudiants inscrits à la session doivent arriver mentalement prêts à travailler dure et proprement hydraté.

Live Fire Logbook Sign Off is a half-day practical session with the Mobile Burn Unit (MBU). Firefighters will need to demonstrate their skills and will receive a report of what they were able to demonstrate to the instructor, which in turn their Fire Chief can sign off on these skills demonstrated in their logbook. We are aiming Section 16 D : Fire Control.
Journal de formation avec feu réel est une session pratique d’une demi-journée avec l'unité de formation mobile (MBU) qui va permettre aux pompiers de démontrer leurs compétences et de recevoir un rapport des compétences démontrées à l’instructeur.  Leur chef pompier peut par la suite signer les sections effectuées dans le journal de formation du pompier. Nous visant la Section 16 D : Matrise du feu.

 

Size up and Tactics Selection This class will focus on the size-up of residential and multi-unit residential fires, including a discussion of critical fire ground factors for each building type. The session will include a review of size-up components including reading smoke, flow path identification and TIC usage. Videos and class room simulations will be used to encourage discussion and critical thinking amongst the participants.

Basic Hazmat Response is a half-day practical session that include : responding, implementing and mitigating hazmat incidents at the operation level. Student will participate in HAZMAT scenarios using proper PPE and will learn how to properly respond,  identify products, control spills using various techniques and tools provided and how to properly terminate the incidents.
Réponse de Base Matières dangereuse  est une session pratique d’une demi-journée qui inclut : répondre, implémenter et mitiguer les incidents de matières dangereuses au niveau opérationnel.  Les pompiers vont participer à des scénarios impliquant des matières dangereuses en utilisant EPI approprier et vont apprendre comment répondre adéquatement, identifier le produit, contrôler la fuite en utilisant divers techniques et outils disponnible et comment conclure l'incident.

Flashover Simulator is a half-day practical session that allows students to witness a live flashover in the safety of a simulator trailer. Students will see rolling flames and feel the heat during their simulation.
Simulateur d'embrasement généralisé est une session pratique d’une demi-journée qui permettra aux étudiants de vivre l'expérience d'un embrasement dans la sécurité d'un simulateur remorque. Les étudiants observeront le roulis des flammes et sentiront de la chaleur durant la simulation.

The primary search is one of the most critical tasks performed on the fireground—yet too often, it’s initiated too late in the incident timeline.

This class is designed to expose firefighters to a wide range of search tactics and techniques, utilizing modern equipment and LIVE FIRE scenarios to build both skill and confidence. With statistics showing that 67% of fireground rescues are made by just one or two members, this session will emphasize realistic, high-stakes methods and the mindset required to perform when lives hang in the balance.

This is a physically demanding session. Students are encouraged to bring a thermal imaging camera from their department (if available) and are strongly advised to hydrate well prior to attending.

If you’re serious about becoming the kind of searching firefighter you’d want coming for your own family—this is the class for you.

Boat Rescue is a half-day practical session that will consist of three work stations with the following:
Station #1 (On shore): Check list of what should be taken before departure, Levels of Hypothermia with treatment, Warning techniques, Dry drowning and secondary drowning, Salt water vs fresh water, Patient packaging.
Station #2 (On water): Individual spotter responsibilities, Pre-search preparations, Search techniques/tips, Scan-stop-focus spotting procedures, Locating techniques and control/reporting requirements.
Station #3 (On water): En route preparations and review of search, Discussion of tools, Extraction techniques- conscious and unconscious, Man overboard actions, Dealing with a body.
Sauvetage en bateau est une session pratique d’une demi-journée qui est constituée de trois station pratique.
Station #1 (sur la rive): Vérifier la liste de ce qui devrait être amener avant le départ, les niveaux d'hypothermie et les traitements, techniques de réchauffement, les types de noyades, eau salé vs eau douce, confinement du patient.
Station #2 (sur l'eau) : responsabilités du guetteur, préparation de pré-recherche, techniques et trucs de recherche, procédure de repérage "Scan-stop-focus", techniques de localisation et exigences de contrôle et de rapport.
Station #3 (sur l'eau) : préparations en route et révision de la recherche, discussion sur les outils, technique d'extraction (conscient/inconscient), actions lors d'un homme à la mer, traiter un corps.

 Vehicle Extrication The Golden Hour After a hiatus spanning several years, our Auto Extrication Workshop returns with renewed vigor. This immersive, hands-on experience is designed to empower participants with the latest tools and opportunities to practice techniques in vehicle extrication. Participants will dive into scenario based action, using updated and modern equipment to tackle techniques such as door removals, dash and roof lifts, and even roof removals among other things. These will be half-day sessions filled with practical learning and engaging challenges. This workshop will offer an opportunity to hone your skills and expand your expertise.
