This form provides an overview of the many ways Safe Passage serves survivors, along with an opportunity for you to share information about yourself and indicate how you would like to get involved. After you submit your application, and if you are selected for an opportunity, a Safe Passage Coordinator will contact you to begin the next steps.

  • Volunteer Application

    Volunteer opportunities may be on a regular basis for client-facing work or occasional throughout the year for special projects and events. Written descriptions of the volunteer opportunities are available on our website. Please note that volunteers who are selected for direct client opportunities, or for positions in which contact with survivors in the community is likely, must complete our 23.5 hour Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). A background check (with a small fee) is required for most volunteer opportunities.
  • Internship Application

    Cover letter and resume required with your application. Internship opportunities may include a wide range of direct client work that can be tailored to a student's educational needs and professional development. Safe Passage provides comprehensive support for survivors of sexual and domestic violence across various settings, including emergency departments, detention facilities, courts, local schools, our safe shelter, the Children's Advocacy Center, and our main office. Our mission is to empower those we serve by offering information, options, and resources that enhance safety while promoting autonomy and informed decision-making. We foster a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where advocates collaborate closely with survivors, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and in control of their journey. Please note that interns who are selected for direct client opportunities, or for positions in which contact with survivors in the community is likely, must complete our 23.5 hour Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).   • Next Steps for Volunteers

    After reviewing the application, a meet-and-greet will be scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator. This meeting provides an opportunity for both parties to determine if volunteering with Safe Passage is a good fit. If both sides agree to move forward, we will provide the necessary documents and policies for review and signature. Once all the required paperwork is completed, we will proceed with scheduling any necessary training and/or background checks. The following policies and agreements are included in the onboarding process: Mandated Reporter Acknowledgment, Anti-Discrimination Policy, Release of Liability Form, Ethical Statement, Volunteer Policies, Program Agreement, Emergency Contact Information.
