This isn’t just a job, it’s a calling. At The Bridge our staff are risk-taking, spiritual contributors who work hard, honor God with integrity, fight for unity, serve with humility and spread joy with their attitudes. We are mutually broken individuals who find restoration in Christ and are passionate about Christ, our Community and our City.
The staff team exists to lead the ministries and operations of the church in a way that catalyzes the church to accomplish its mission. For clarity, we don’t believe the staff team accomplishes the mission of the church. Rather, the staff team is a group of a select few individuals who lead in such a way to develop ministries, programs and processes that equip and catalyze the church to accomplish its mission.
As a catalyst, we exist to promote or propel movement and multiplication in the church. We don’t serve ourselves. We don’t lead for our own sake. We serve and lead to make the biggest impact in the church–those followers of Jesus who are our faith family in The Bridge Church. Therefore, our leadership should compel and propel the forward progress of the church in a catalytic way.
We make decisions and take action, not based on what’s easiest or most convenient for us, but what’s most impactful and beneficial for the church.
The role of a staff member is not a role of superiority; it’s a role of sacrifice. Loving the church, serving the church, and leading the church will come at great cost to staff and their families. We must, therefore, count the cost. There will be great joy in this role, but there will also be great challenge and hardship. As staff of the church, we willingly and eagerly do the work of ministry because we follow Jesus’ example of denying ourselves and taking up our cross.
