Beginning in Fall 2026, the NCFFL will officially transition to a new event-based format designed to better support the rapidly evolving landscape of collegiate flag football. As more programs continue joining conferences and structured league play, we understand that committing to a full independent season can become increasingly difficult.
Moving forward, every NCFFL event will operate as a standalone tournament, with the National Championships becoming an open sign-up event available to all eligible programs.
Each regional event will feature:
• 3–4 full NCAA regulation games (no playoffs)
• Professional referees and organized event staff
• Full media coverage, including photographers and videographers
• Livestreamed games through The Flag Network
• High-level competition and recruiting exposure
We are also actively seeking host schools for:
• 1–2 Fall 2026 events
• 6 Spring 2027 events, including the NCFFL National Championships
This new structure gives programs the opportunity to supplement their existing schedules with quality competition, while reducing the travel and financial burden of committing to multiple extended-season events.
Projected Event Costs Per Team, Per Game:
• Referee Costs: $200
• Livestream + Photography/Videography/Social Media Coverage: $200
• League Fee (insurance, operations, logistics, staffing, administration): $100
Estimated Total Cost: Approximately $500 per team, per game.
Our goal is to provide programs with a high-quality, professionally operated collegiate experience while still remaining significantly more affordable and flexible than traditional full-season travel models.
In addition, the NCFFL will continue expanding its recruiting initiatives through our College Combine Series, creating more opportunities for athletes to gain exposure and connect with collegiate coaches.
