2026 Denbigh Day Parade Participant Application

Please fill out and submit this form to apply for the Denbigh Day Parade which will be held on  September 19, 2026 starting at Denbigh High School and ending at the former Sherwood Shopping Center.

    How to apply for the 2026 Denbigh Day Parade 

     

    2026 Denbigh Day Parade: Saturday, September 19, 2026, 10:00am.

    Parade line up begins at 8:00 a.m. at Denbigh High School (259 Denbigh Boulevard). All participants must be present in parade formation no later than 9:00 a.m. No one will be allowed to enter the line once the parade has started. Please register by August 31, 2026 to give staff enough time to assign parade placement.

    We encourage businesses, churches, civic and school groups to join us. For more information please call Department of Parks & Recreation at (757) 926-1400 or email the form to grimesnl@nnva.gov.

    LINE UP ASSIGNMENTS 

    Assignments and parade entry number for early registrations will be mailed on the week of August 31, 2026. Assignments and parade entry number for late registrations will be emailed the week of your registration. If you do not receive your assignment by September 11, please call Newport News Department of Parks and Recreation at 757-926-1400.

    RULES AND REGULATIONS  

    1. The City of Newport News reserves the right to accept or deny any entry application.  

    2. All entries must be decorated in a way that is not deemed inappropriate for audiences.

    3. Entries must be decorated advertising the business listed on the entry form or according to the pre-determined parade theme.

    4. For safety reasons, do not throw candy or other items from moving vehicles.

    5. This is a family event; therefore, participants may not act in a lewd manner, play innappropriate music and shall dress appropriately. The driver of any vehicle must be 18 years or older.

    6. There shall be at least one adult (18 years and older) supervising chldren under the age of 18 in each entry. 

    7. Do not tailgate or leave gaps! Keep about three car lengths between each entry at all times.

    8. Submitting an application does not guarantee entry into the parade.

    9. No entry may have more than 12 vehicles.
