5K participation waiver for an event benefitting Columbia Second Chance:

I understand that running or walking in a 5K involves risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions with other participants or bystanders, weather conditions, road or trail hazards, dehydration, overexertion, medical events, and other injuries. I understand that animals may be present at the event and that I assume all risks related to contact with or proximity to animals, including bites, scratches, allergic reactions, tripping, unpredictable animal behavior, and other animal-related injuries or damages. I hereby release and hold harmless Columbia Second Chance, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, organizers, affiliates, property owners, vendors, and agents from any and all claims, liability, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising from my participation in the event, including injuries, illness, death, property damage, or animal-related incidents, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I consent to emergency medical treatment if necessary and represent that I am physically able to participate or have consulted a physician if needed.
I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to the waiver and release above.
