  • Pathways in Health Technology 2027

  • DUE DATE: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 11:59PM PST

Pathways in Health Technology is a program that aims to develop the next generation of leaders in the health technology industry by providing access and exposure to industry leaders, career opportunities, and essential skills to thrive in the field. The program encompasses three core elements:

    • Project-based work in small groups with a healthtech company
    • Medtech education exploring opportunities in all disciplines related to health and health technology
    • Mental & emotional workshops to develop and strengthen mindsets

Participants will discover integral parts of the medtech ecosystem through interactive career panels, technology exhibits that showcase the approach and process for developing technology, and a guided biodesign bootcamp project paired with a health technology company. Students gain hands-on experience working in small groups on a clinical project for a healthtech company, then present their novel ideas at the program's culmination. Throughout the experience, targeted sessions exploring topics such as how to ask questions and managing imposter syndrome will equip participants with an empowered mindset they can use in any professional setting in the future. Students will be exposed to mental and emotional strategies that will provide a solid platform to level up both academically and professionally. Students will also receive a small stipend as part of their participation.

The program is specifically for community college students who are underrepresented and underresourced in the medtech industry. The ideal participant is a student with sophomore standing and at least one year of calculus, chemistry, biology or physics.
