Purpose
The Reining Australia (RA) Hall of Fame recognises outstanding horses that have made a significant and lasting contribution to the sport of reining in Australia.
Eligibility
• Nominations may be submitted by any current financial member of RA
• The nominated horse must:
- Be no longer competing in any reining competition
- Be at least 15 years of age, or deceased
Nomination process
• Nominations may be submitted at any time to the Hall of Fame Committee
• All nominations will be reviewed annually in June
• The Hall of Fame Committee will assess nominations and provide
recommendations to the Board
• Final endorsement of inductees rests with the Reining Australia Board
Selection guidance
In assessing nominations, consideration may be given to:
• The horse’s complete competition history within Reining Australia, including National and State titles, records and earnings
• The horse’s impact on the sport, including contribution to performance
standards and progression of reining in Australia
• The level of recognition, enjoyment and inspiration the horse has provided to competitors, officials and spectators
• Demonstrated longevity, consistency or exceptional achievement at a high level
Principles
• Induction is awarded on merit and contribution to the sport
• The Hall of Fame must not be used to promote bloodlines, ownership interests or for commercial gain
