    Non-Members: $150.00 (compete in semi-finals)

    Members: $75.00 (Perform in Tents, Semi-finals)

    Organization Membership fee (Optional): $45.00

    Note: This years contestants are vying for cash of up to $5000.00, prizes and throphies.

    Entrants agree to abide by all the rules of the Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes.

    Entrants agree to allow OCPA to make and use audio and video recordings of their performance for promotional purposes and/or sale.

    Opening Statement
    In the Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes (OCPA), we strive to promote a safe, respectful, supportive, free and fair environment for all our constituents, namely our members, suppliers, partners including Calypso Tents, donors, staff, volunteers and patrons.  We believe in transparency and equality; and we respect diversity.  We endeavour to solve our problems by communicating with, and listening to one another in a respectful manner.  When we fail to find a solution ourselves, we seek appropriate assistance to do so.  All our constituents must comply with this Code of Conduct.
     
    The Code of Conduct is a formal OCPA document intended to create an environment in which all parties feel welcome to make a contribution to the organization without fear of abuse, harassment, bullying, discrimination or physical harm.
     
    OCPA remains committed to extending a broad artistic license for calypso artistes to produce and perform without fear of  censure or censorship. The Code of Conduct is not intended to stifle the creativity of lyricists, singers and/or composers.                                                                                                                          

    This code of conduct will govern and assist in mediating any dispute that may arise.
     

    Statement of What is Un-acceptable

    • Any form of bullying
    • Harassment (behavior that degrades, humiliates or embarrasses someone and which a reasonable person would know to be unwelcome)
    • All forms of abuse – verbal (including obscene language directed at someone), written, physical, sexual or psychological
    • Any form of discrimination as stated in Sec. 9 (2) of the Human Rights Code, based on race, colour, ancestry, nationality or place of origin, ethnic background, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital and family status, source of income, political belief, physical or mental disability
    • Threatening violent acts with or without a weapon
    • Disclosing confidential information about donors, staff, volunteers or other individuals associated with or related to OCPA
    • Publicly making unsubstantiated allegations about our constituents namely our members, suppliers, partners including Calypso Tents and patrons. 
    • Failure to comply with fiduciary responsibilities
       
      Process to Address Allegations of Non-compliance with the Code of Conduct
    • As soon as possible after the incident, the aggrieved party forwards to the Secretary of OCPA by post or e-mail, a written complaint stating clearly the details of what happened
    • OCPA Board acknowledges receipt of the complaint within 48 hours and convenes a Disciplinary Committee or any other Adjudicator that it deems to be preferred
    • Within 7 calendar days of receiving the complaint, OCPA Board sends written correspondence by post or e-mail inviting the parties to the dispute to separate formal hearings to discuss the incident
    • Within 7 days of the formal hearing OCPA Board, by post or e-mail informs  the parties to the dispute of the decision
       
      Consequences for Non- compliance with the Code of Conduct
    • A written reminder of the expected behaviour
    • A written explanation of why the aggressor’s behaviour is inappropriate and confirming future expectations
    • A written warning with specific concerns and consequences if the behaviour is repeated
    • Suspension or expulsion from OCPA
    • Seeking police intervention if the behaviour is illegal.  
    •  Provision for appeal will be provided.

    Signing this application constitutes agreement to abide by OCPA's Code of Conduct.
