    Connect Cheer Northwest code of conduct agreement for athlete and parent/guardian acknowledgement, initials, and signatures.
  • Participant Information

  • A. Conduct, Behavior & Representation

  • 1) treat all Connect Cheer staff, athletes, and families with respect;
  • 2) use appropriate language and conduct that reflects positively on self, Connect Cheer NW, and cheerleading;
  • 3) no racism, discrimination, harassment, or bullying, with immediate removal and full financial responsibility for remaining season fees if violated;
  • 4) if reported under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any Connect Cheer event, practice, or competition, may be suspended pending investigation, and suspension/dismissal does not remove financial obligations;
  • 5) coaches and owners may suspend or remove an athlete or parent for behavior violating Connect Cheer NW policies;
  • 6) the lobby is not an appropriate place to discuss concerns about team placement, coaching decisions, athlete progress, or gym operations, and doing so may result in loss of lobby privileges;
  • 7) practices and competitions are not appropriate times to address concerns, and a later meeting should be requested;
  • 8) arrive on time to all practices, events, and competitions, dressed in required uniform or practice wear, ready to train;
  • 9) no negative gossip or communication that harms Connect Cheer NW across verbal conversations, text messages, email, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or any other platform;
  • 10) do not post or share injuries, diagnoses, or medical conditions on any Connect Cheer NW communication platform or social media;
  • 11) do not create social media accounts referencing Connect Cheer NW, team names, or gym branding without written permission, and do not list Connect Cheer NW or team names in social media bio;
  • 12) do not post Connect Cheer NW music, choreography, stunts, or routines online, nor share or teach these materials outside the program until after the competitive season concludes;
  • 13) represent Connect Cheer NW with integrity at school, online, and in the community, with poor representation potentially resulting in disciplinary action.
  • B. Communication Expectations

  • 1) communicate respectfully with Connect Cheer NW staff and follow the appropriate process for scheduling conversations or meetings;
  • 2) do not approach coaches before, during, or immediately after practice to discuss concerns, team decisions, or athlete placement;
  • 3) do not coach from the sidelines, give corrections, or interfere with coaching decisions during practices or competitions;
  • 4) do not contact coaches on personal phones or social media for program-related matters;
  • 5) maintain a positive and respectful environment in the lobby and at all Connect Cheer NW events.
  • C. Attendance Policy

  • 1) attend all scheduled practices and be flexible with additional practices added at the coaches’ discretion;
  • 2) understand allowed absences are 3 excused absences and 2 unexcused absences during the regular season;
  • 3) understand any additional unexcused absences will result in a $150 fine per occurrence;
  • 4) understand no unexcused absences are allowed within 2 weeks of a competition;
  • 5) if an unexcused absence occurs within 2 weeks of a competition, acknowledge the following: a $275 training fee will be charged, a $150 fee per missed practice will be charged, the athlete may be replaced for that competition, and a doctor’s note is required to waive fees for illness;
  • 6) understand excessive absences may result in loss of routine position or alternate placement;
  • 7) understand choreography is mandatory and missing choreography may result in loss of a choreographed position;
  • 8) if the team earns a Summit or Worlds bid, understand that no absences are allowed in April leading up to the event.
  • D. Team Placement & Routine Positions

  • 1) understand that team placement decisions are made by Connect Cheer NW staff and are final
  • 2) understand that athletes may be moved between teams at any time if deemed necessary for the athlete or the program
  • 3) understand that routine positions are not guaranteed and may change throughout the season
  • 4) will maintain and improve the skills demonstrated at tryouts, and if required skills are lost, the athlete may be moved to a more appropriate team or placed as an alternate until skills return
  • E. Competition Expectations

  • 1) follow all instructions from coaches and staff during warm-ups and competition;
  • 2) do not approach judges, event staff, or coaches during competition;
  • 3) do not film other teams’ routines or share videos of Connect Cheer NW routines during competition. [Source text truncated; remainder unavailable]
