• Once Upon a Time: In the Renaissance

    CALL FOR ARTISTS AND PERFORMERS The Ormond Memorial Art Museum is hosting a fundraiser with a Renaissance theme, and we invite you to contribute to an unforgettable experience that will showcase the art, fashion, literature, and music of the era through a series of signature events. (see event details below). ORIGINAL POSTER ART – Submission deadline is July 10, 2026 Visual artists are encouraged to submit original work inspired by the Renaissance. If selected, their artwork will be featured on the official Once Upon A Time poster (with artist credit) and will be incorporated into other print/digital materials to promote all related events. Poster Art submission deadline is July 10, 2026.  PERFORMERS – Submission deadline is August 16,2026 Musicians, actors, puppeteers, dancers, spoken word artists, and other interactive/roaming characters have the opportunity to participate at one or more of the events. Performance submission deadline is August 16, 2026 Themed Exhibition (October 10 – November 15) – A curated exhibit of visual art, fashions, wearable art, and decorative objects inspired by the Renaissance.  Opening Night: The Beggar’s Banquet (October 10) –Jesters, muses, and revelers gather in a lively “Rock and Roll” Renaissance fashion, complete with music, merriment, costumed characters, and indulgent fare.  Renaissance Garden Festival (October 25) – This family-friendly, outdoor celebration transforms the OMAM Gardens as guests wander through a magical setting of costumes, music, and more nestled among the pathways, fountains, and blooms.  Triviali-Tea (November 1) – Surrounded by the beauty of OMAM’s Gardens, enjoy an English high tea, light fare, and friendly competition as guests test their knowledge of art, history and literature through Renaissance-inspired trivia questions.  Grand Finale: Masquerade Ball & Thou Art (November 14) – Masked guests dance beneath the stars before experiencing the captivating theatrical production, “Thou Art.” Award-winning actors, Colin Cox and Alessandra Mañón star as William Shakespeare and his muse
