  • RJES Sea Week Permission Slip 26

  • Hello RJ Elementary Parents,
  • Sea Week this year will be the week of May 18th-22nd. Sea Week grew from a grassroots effort in Juneau in 1968 into a statewide curriculum to support teaching Alaskan students about their local water systems. This includes learning about three main areas: culture, science, and stewardship.
  • What should your student bring during Sea Week?

    • ***Please write your name on all personal items just in case anything gets lost/left behind.***

    • backpack & water bottle

    • extra shoes & change of clothes (especially socks)

    • rain gear & boots

    • cell phones & other electronics

    • toys

    • fishing gear

  • Safety is top priority on the beach. Expectations will be reviewed with students prior to Sea Week. Staff, students and volunteers will all be expected to follow school rules and Ts'msyen Ayaawx.
