JURIED EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS:
This annual juried exhibit showcases artwork from all over the state of California. This show strives to highlight artists in all stages of their careers and offers them a chance to compete for a number of awards, including opportunities to take part in a group show with Thinkspace Projects and also a highly coveted solo show opportunity. This regional show features artwork from an extensive variety of mediums and explores creative movements happening in California.
What will America mean in 2126? How will people live, relate, govern, create, remember, and care for one another? What new myths, systems, landscapes, and identities will define the country's next century?
We welcome immersive, interdisciplinary art that speculate broadly on possible futures — technological, ecological, political, spiritual, cultural, and beyond.
Please note, you must be based in California for this open call.
Artists may explore themes including:
- Power, democracy, and new civic structures
- Afro-Futurism
- Community, belonging, and collective identity
- Climate futures, land, water, and resource stewardship
- Technology's role in shaping consciousness and connection
- Work, labor, and post-scarcity or post-capitalist systems
- Migration, borders, and global exchange
- Public space, architecture, and infrastructure
- Health, disability, and human evolution
- Memory, archives, ancestry, and rewritten histories
- Joy, ritual, resistance, and celebration
Themes may be utopian, dystopian, surreal, speculative, poetic, playful, or radically pragmatic. We encourage projects that invite participation, spark intergenerational dialogue, and expand who sees themselves reflected in America's future.
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all living artists ages 18 and up, residing in California. All entries must be original, completed in the past three years, and not previously shown at the Brea Gallery or Thinkspcae Projects. All mediums are welcome.
ENTRIES AND FEES:
Each artist may submit up to 5 works of art. Entry fees are for consideration by the jurors, payment does not guarantee admission into the exhibit.

JURIED SHOW:
A one-time entry fee of $10 to submit up to 5 works of art is required.
AWARDS:
- Best In Show: $500 plus the opportunity to have a solo show with Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California
- Second Place: $300 plus the opprotunity to take part in upcoming group shows with Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California
- Third Place: $200 plus the opportunity to be included in a group show with Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California.
- Popular Choice: $100 plus a gift bundle of publications from Thinkspace Editions

JURYING:
'A LOOK TO THE FUTURE: America at 350' will be juried by Andrew Hosner and Leonard Croskey, the co-founders of Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California, in addtion to Brea Gallery Director and Curatorial Staff.
NOTIFICATION:
The results of the jurying will be sent to all submitting artists via email. Selected artists will be instructed on how to proceed and are required to agree to all terms outlined by the Gallery. Accepted artists are responsible for transportation or shipping costs to and from the Gallery.
SALES:
In the event that a work is sold, Brea Gallery will retain 50% of the selling price. Works will be considered for sale at the price indicated on the entry form. Sold works may not be removed from the Gallery prior to the close of exhibition.
INSURANCE:
Accepted works will be insured for 50% of the sale price while in Brea Gallery's possession. Insuring artwork during transit to and from the Gallery is the responsibility of the artist.

If Accepted: Shipped Works to Arrive by July 6, 2026
Artwork Drop Off at Brea Gallery: Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 25, 2026
Artwork Pickup: Monday, September 7 and Tuesday, September 8
Shipped Works will be returned the week of September 14, as long as all has been set up in advance with a representative at the Brea Gallery and pickup arranged with your shipper or a return label included with your work
