• Austin Alley Project: Get Involved

Thank you for your interest and involvement in the alley project! This short survey is designed to help us better understand how you'd like to contribute and what ideas you have for the future of the alley. Your input will directly shape the direction of the project and help us form sub-committees around shared interests. It should only take a few minutes to complete — we appreciate your time and can't wait to hear from you!
  • We're a community of neighbors, artists, architects, designers, and business owners working together to transform underused alleys into a living art walkway that showcases local Austin talent and reflects the culture and history of East Austin. This is a community-driven effort to turn overlooked corridors into something beautiful, meaningful, and alive.

Alongside the art, we're tackling practical improvements — lighting, wayfinding, planting, and infrastructure — to make the alleys safe, welcoming, and maintainable for the long term. The goal is a vibrant "third place" where folks can discover art, support businesses, and build a deeper connection with the neighborhood.

We're currently focused on the alleyway between East Cesar Chavez and Willow Street, specifically the blocks between Chalmers and Lynn, with a long-term vision to extend the full alley corridor from I-35 to Pleasant Valley.
