1. When filling an official application, Queen Contestants must pay $150.00 entrance fee. All contestants must submit the completed application form, fee, and photograph by August 1, 2026. Categories of competition for the Queen’s Pageant include: Panel interview with Judges, 30 second Fair promotion (T-shirt provided) with modeling on stage, evening gown and on-stage interview.
2. Queen Pageant Contestants must be between the ages of 16-21. (WV Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen contestants must be at least 16 but younger than 22 as of January 1 of the current year.) The Miss Monongalia County Fair Queen Pageant is open STATE WIDE
3. There will be an Orientation for the Queen Contestants prior to the contest, more details will be sent out.
4. Contestant must certify that they are of good moral character and have not been convicted of a major crime. Failure to do so may result in her forfeit of her title and in such case the 1st runner up will succeed. Any complaints of questionable
character would result with calling the Monongalia County fair board to a meeting and voting on a decision of said poor conduct.
5. If chosen as Monongalia County Fair Queen, contestant must forfeit any other title she may hold that is represented by the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen Contract. The Queen should consult the pageant director
before entering another pageant.
6. Contestants have not made any legal obligations that would prevent or limit her participation as a contestant.
7. When chosen, “Miss Monongalia County Fair Queen”, she must participate in all activities of the fair as deemed necessary by the Fair Board or Pageant Director. Part of the responsibility of the Fair Queen is to have an active part in all week activities and the crowning of her successor the following year. The winner is required to compete in the West Virginia Fairs and Festivals Pageant in January. Fairs and Festival package will include room for hotel, 2 parent’s tickets and entry
into pageant.
8. Attending other parades, festivals and pageants is encouraged by the fair board and director. Should the Queen wish to participate in local area parades, she will be responsible for all arrangements involved with doing so. The Pageant Director
will get a list of parades, etc. for the queen to attend. Also, when using her title at other pageants, etc., please notify the director when representing the fair.
9. Dress Code for Queen needs to be professional, age-appropriate attire and tasteful. You are representing the Monongalia County Fair and inappropriate dress won’t be tolerated.
10. No Scores or Comments will be given to the contestants after the pageant. Scores are submitted to the fair board and they shred all information from judges.
11. The Queen will be called upon through the year to speak on the radio, support the community in events, etc. She needs to be available to represent the fair; dates will be given with plenty of notice. Any photos taken during fair week or through the year are property of fair and can be used for publicity for the fair or advertisements.
12.All Social Media Platforms – If chosen as Miss Monongalia County Fair Queen, you’ll be required to add the Pageant Director as a friend or follower. Posting inappropriate content (photos, comments, etc.) may result in forfeiture of your title.
13. When chosen Mon County Fair Queen, there will be preparation for Fairs and Festivals Pageant. Please make your schedule open to meet with the Pageant Director to explain the details to you and your parents. We as the fair want to make you as prepared as possible. We will help you come up with a Promo of the Fair if you want the help.
If I am chosen as Miss Monongalia County Fair Queen, I hereby promise to uphold my title as stated in the rules and regulations. If I do not uphold my title, I agree to turn my title and winnings over to the first runner-up. The first runner-up will then take over my duties and honors as Miss Monongalia County Fair Queen from that point. Furthermore, I release the Monongalia County Fair Board, Mylan Park, and director of pageant and any assistants from all liability claims due to the loss or damage of property, injury or sickness at any time. I also agree that the judge’s decision is FINAL and there are NO REFUNDS. I also give my permission that any photos taken at during my reign maybe used in fair book, ads, website or newspapers
