General Studio Information
The dance program at Stacia's School of Dance runs from late August through May. The majority of our dancers dance 1 day a week at a set class day/time. We will take new students through the month of December. We generally have 3-4 performances per year, Country Day on the Hill, Cedar Hill Christmas Tree lighting, The Nutcracker (every other year) and the end of the year recital. We use a class outfit designated at the beginning of the dance year for the Country Day performance and also to wear to class throughout the year. The class outfit is required for Level I and above and optional for the preschool and K-1st grade, although any dancer wishing to perform at Country Day will need the class outfit. For the Christmas performance, we generally do DIY performance outfits based on the theme. The end of the year recital is our BIG EVENT. We order special costumes for this performance. We do a full recital where every class has a routine for each style of dance they learn during the year.
The costumes for the May recital generally cost between $65 and $90 each. We collect a deposit for each costume in the Fall. (See deposit pricing below under Tuition and Fees Information). That deposit is due by November 1st, but can be paid any time after the first week of class. This deposit makes it possible for us to order the costumes as we have to pay for them up front and they have to be ordered by December 1st. A remaining balance will be due in March once we are able to calculate the totals for each costume. We will have a picture week at the studio in the Spring where each dancer can have pictures taken in their recital costumes and with their class. There is no obligation to purchase pictures, but we ask that everyone attend so that the class picture will be accurate. Please read the information below for costs and dress code information.
Automatic Credit / Debit Card Authorization
Stacia’s School of Dance requires all dancers to pay tuition through an automatic credit card authorization. In order to do this, each family is required to fill out an authorization form giving Stacia’s School of Dance permission to charge the listed credit/debit card for their monthly tuition.
Stacia’s School of Dance accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Dropout Policy and Late Fees
There is no fee assessed for dropping out of dance. Stacias School of Dance does require one paid month notice of your intent to dropout. Your dancer can dance during that month, but payment for that month is required either way. If you drop out the second week of October, you will be charged for November tuition, so your child can dance through November.
It is each family's responsibility to maintain your credit/debit card in good standing with Stacia's School of Dance. If your card is declined for monthly tuition, you will be notified by e-mail and given 5 days from the date of that e-mail to correct the problem and clear your account. After 5 days, there will be a $10 late fee applied to your account. There will be a $10 administrative fee applied to any payment received by any method other than the credit/debit card on file.
If your card was declined because it was lost or stolen and you need to change the account information on file, you may do so by going to the NEED TO KNOW page of the website.
Tuition and Fees Information
There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee ($65 Pre-registration for returning dancers that register within the designated Pre-Registration period) for the first dancer registered per family. Additional Siblings residing in the same home as the first registered dancer will have a registration fee of $25.
The Monthly tuition is $70(preschool and K-1st), $100(Gemstones), $120(Senior Dance Company) per month payable by automatic credit card transaction on the 1st of each month.
A $50 (non-refundable) costume deposit per style of dance (Generally 2 costume for a total of $100) is due by NOVEMBER 1st for dancers in Preschool and K-1st Grade Classes.
The Costume deposit for Gemstone dancers is $65 per style of dance (Generally 3 costumes for a total deposit of $195).
The deposit allows us to get the costumes ordered as we have to pay up front. It does not cover the entire cost of the costumes. A remaining costume balance will be invoiced via email in February and due in March.
A Note about the costume deposit: The payment is due in full by November 1st. Costumes will not be ordered for any dancer whose costume deposit has not been paid by November 1st. No dancer will participate in the recital without a costume. Dance Costumes are made to order and take extensive time to arrive which requires us to order early to ensure on time arrival. Students will not receive their costumes until their account is up to date with a -0- balance. Thank you for your understanding.
New for 2026
End of the Year Awards
At the end of each year, awards are given for Best Technique in class, Most Improved in Class and consecutive years of dance taken at Stacia's School of Dance. Those awards include ribbons for 1-4 years, trophys for 5-10 years and a Stacia's Pendant and Gemstones for 10 years and above. A dancer must attend at least 75% of the regular classes (no more than 8 absences) for the year to qualify toward their end of the year award. Tardies may be counted as absences if roll has already been taken when the dancer arrives. It is the dancer or his/her parents responsibility to ensure that the dancer gets credit for the class if they arrived late by reminding Miss Stacia (at the conclusion of class) to update the record. For example, a dancer with 9 previous consecutive years of dance who has more than 8 absences will not receive a 10 year award at the end of the year. They will not lose credit for prior years and can try again the next year to get a qualifying 10th year.
Senior Solos
Graduating seniors are permitted to perform a senior solo at the recital if they meet the following condition.
1. At least 7 years of consecutive dance at Stacia's School of Dance with at least 75% attendance for years 2026 and beyond.
