Art on the Block NYC 2027 Residency Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for Art on the Block NYC's 2027 residencies. This short-term residency (5 weeks) takes place in a NYC storefront (107 West 86th Street). As the artist-in-residence you will have the opportunity to transform the space into both your studio and a public viewing space. You will expected to be present full time 5 days each week (Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-6pm). During that time you will not only have general visitors coming in to see your artwork and engage with you but will also facilitate scheduled programming for youth, families, and adults. These programs include art-making workshops, artist interviews, and more and will be co-developed by you and Art on the Block NYC team. You will be paid a $6000 stipend for your participation. In order to apply you must live within 50 miles of New York City. This residency does not cover transportation or housing. International applicants will not be considered at this time.
