The United States Department of Education mandates that students maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward the completion of their degrees within a reasonable period of time to be eligible for Title IV financial aid programs including Federal Pell, Federal SEOG, Federal Work Study and Federal Direct Student Loans. SAP requires that students earn a minimum grade point average (2.0), attain a minimum passing rate of classes registered (67%), and complete their degree within 150% of the credit hours that it requires (ex-60 hour Associate degree students should have no more than 90 hours attempted.)
More information on SAP can be found here: https://www.nunez.edu/financial-aid/satisfactory-academic-progress
Students who are not meeting SAP may submit an appeal to explain the extenuating circumstance. A committee will review the appeal and documentation to determine if financial aid eligibility can be reinstated. If the appeal is granted, the student will be placed on an academic plan. All appeal results are emailed to the student within two weeks of a complete appeal (including documentation if needed) being submitted.
