VANDA International Junior Science Olympiad (VIJSO) 2026 (formerly known as VNJSO)

Competition Date: Saturday, 25 July 2026

Deadline Registration: Sunday, 12 July 2026

Time: 9:00 - 10:30 am

Mode of Contest: Online via ZOOM (home-based) and Paper-Based

Eligible Levels: Primary 3 to Secondary 4(Grade 3 to 10/11) as in January 2026

Exam Format

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Total Questions: 25
• Total Marks: 77 points
• Questions are based on the Singapore School Science Syllabus
• The paper emphasizes critical thinking, analytical skills, and higher-order problem-solving

Scoring System:

• Questions 1–10: 2 points each (deduct 1 point for each wrong answer)
• Questions 11–20: 3 points each (deduct 1 point for each wrong answer)
• Questions 21–23: 3 points each (no penalty for wrong answers)
• Questions 24–25: 4 points each (no penalty for wrong answers)

Bonus:

• All participants start with 10 bonus points to avoid negative scores

Award

Participants will receive the following:

1. Award gift voucher for Perfect Scorers.
2. Certificates for Perfect Scorers, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
3. Personalized medallion for Perfect Scorers.
4. Medals for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
5. E-certificates are given to participants who qualify for Honourable Mention and Certificate of Participation.

Currently, the confirmed paper-based exam venue is:

• Bangkok — St. Mark Australian International School, Srinakarin Campus

Online mode is also available.

Additional paper-based venues may be announced later and updates will be shared with registered participants.

Awards & Delivery Information:

• Students who receive Bronze Award or above will receive a printed certificate and medal.
• An additional delivery fee of THB 100 will be collected later.
• A separate delivery fee collection form will be sent once the certificates and medals are ready for dispatch.
