This year marks the first TdU Vienna Summer School. We're heading to Berlin for a week to visit the Theater of the Mad (Theater of the Oppressed, a group of people with lived experience of mental illness). Together, we'll create a vibrant space for encounters and begin by learning the methods of Brecht's didactic play, then combining them with Theater of the Oppressed and other applied theater forms! There will also be time for a city tour, and Stephan Antczack, one of the founders of the Theater of the Mad, will give us a guided tour of Berlin, following in the footsteps of Bertolt Brecht. The workshops will take place in a trendy cultural center steeped in political history, right in the heart of Kreuzberg.
Dates: August 21-29 (departure from Vienna on the Nightjet on August 20, return on the Nightjet on August 29).
