Welcome to Thanet Alive 2026!

Thanet Alive is a yearly exhibition platform showcasing emerging artists who have a connection with Thanet in a professional gallery setting. Our core purpose is to provide a free opportunity for local artists to be recognised and celebrated. We are looking for artists from any background and accept works of any theme, medium and size (as long as it can fit in the gallery space). While the exhibition embraces all themes and formats, the final selection will be curated fairly and transparently. Criteria for selection include but are not limited to; authenticity (art that speaks its own truth, displaying an honest distinctive voice), socio-cultural relevance (art that conveys a message, engaging with global conversations, contemporary culture or personal experiences) and Artistic quality (consideration of the works quality, presentation and overall impact). Key exhibition details: Submission deadline: 1st August | Artists notified by: 14th August | Installation day: 22nd September | Public exhibition dates: 23rd - 27th September | Private view: The evening of the 23rd | Deinstallation and collection: 28th September.
