FRIENDS OF PORT ROWING DAY PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER
Port Rowing Learn-to-Row Day — May 30, 2026
This Agreement is made between Friends of Port Rowing ("Port Rowing") and the undersigned participant ("you").
1. PARTICIPATION GRANT This Agreement grants you authorization to participate in Friends of Port Rowing's Learn-to-Row Day event on May 30, 2026 only. This authorization is limited solely to that date and confers no ongoing membership or affiliation with Port Rowing or any other organization.
2. TERM This Agreement is valid for May 30, 2026 only.
3. ASSUMPTION OF RISK You understand the nature of rowing activities, both on water and on land, and confirm that you are in good health and proper physical condition to participate. You are fully aware of and voluntarily assume all risks inherent in the sport of rowing, including but not limited to catastrophic injury, paralysis, and death.
4. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY Except as excluded by applicable law, you and your successors and assigns hereby release and forever discharge Port Rowing, its directors, officers, employees, agents, coaches, and volunteers from all claims, damages, losses, and liabilities arising from or connected with your participation in this event, including claims arising from the negligence of any party, except to the extent claims are based on intentional or reckless conduct.
5. INDEMNIFICATION You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Port Rowing and its affiliated parties from any losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of this Agreement or your participation in the event, except where such losses result from Port Rowing's intentional misconduct.
6. MEDIA AND LIKENESS You grant Port Rowing a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your name, image, likeness, and voice in photographs, video, and other media in connection with the promotion of Port Rowing and the sport of rowing. You waive any right to compensation or prior approval for such use.
7. MINOR PARTICIPANTS If you are signing on behalf of a minor, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that minor and have the authority to bind them to the terms of this Agreement. You accept full responsibility for the minor's compliance with all event rules and safety guidelines.
8. GOVERNING LAW This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York.
9. ENTIRE AGREEMENT This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Port Rowing regarding your participation in the May 30, 2026 event and supersedes any prior understanding.
