  • About the Course:

    The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is collaborating with K12 Coalition to provide professional learning and implementation support services to improve evidence-based literacy instruction for educators and school leaders serving students in Grades 4-12 (upper elementary, middle, and secondary) across the State of Illinois. The Keys to Adolescent Literacy online course is organized into 11 modules. The course is asynchronous, which means you can log on and off as needed. You have 12 months to complete the coursework from when you are enrolled.

  • Registration Process:

    Thank you for your interest in the Keys to Adolescent Literacy course. The current cohort has reached its capacity of 1,500 educators — a reflection of the extraordinary response from Illinois's grades 4-12 community. The form is still open and we encourage you to submit. By completing this form you will be placed on the official waitlist. If a spot becomes available through a cancellation, or if additional opportunities are made available in connection with this initiative, you will be among the first we contact. Enrollees can expect electronic confirmation as follows: For online asynchronous course access, you will receive an email from Talent (please check your SPAM folder). For books/materials, you will receive an email from Veracore with the shipping tracking number for your manuals for your course(s). Please only submit one application. If you have already completed an application and need to make an adjustment, please contact info@keystoliteracy.com. The state has already allocated funding for 1,500 educator seats. When those seats are filled, registration closes.
