North Grenville Mobility Master Plan Survey
  • North Grenville Mobility Master Plan Phase 2 Survey - Part 1

Help shape the future of Mobility for the Municipality of North Grenville!
  • The Mobility Master Plan (MMP) is a long-term strategy that will guide the development and expansion of North Grenville’s transportation system for the next 20 years and beyond. The MMP will replace the current Transportation Master Plan and Commuter Cycling Plan and introduce a new Active Transportation Plan to set strategies and policies that support planned growth and align with the community's transportation vision.

Earlier this year, we completed Round 1 of our public engagement. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences, challenges, and ideas regarding the current state of transportation in North Grenville. We are currently advancing through Phase 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process. Building directly on your Round 1 feedback, the project team has refined the community's transportation vision, developed evaluation criteria, and identified specific problem areas along with potential alternative transportation solutions.

We appreciate your time and input.

Part 1 - Vision and Goals, Evaluation Criteria, Active Transportation Network Problems and Opportunities, and Transit Network Problems and Opportunities
Part 2 - Road Network Problems and opportunities (Coming soon)

Part 1 should take 15-20 minutes
Part 2 should take ~30 minutes

Your feedback is vital to ensuring the Mobility Master Plan reflects the needs of everyone who lives, works, and travels in North Grenville.

  • Question 1 - Confirming Our Visions and Goals

  • During the first round of public engagement, we asked the community to review draft vision statements and prioritize mobility goals. Based on your feedback, we have selected the following Vision Statement and Mobility Goals to guide the development of the Mobility Master Plan.

    Mobility Vision:

"North Grenville is focused on providing an integrated, accessible and connected transportation and mobility system that is responsive and reflective of municipal priorities around growth and sustainability. People are able to move with ease both now and in the future, giving them choice no matter the trip type, purpose or destination."

    Mobility Goals:

    • Improved Safety
    • Cost effective
    • Well managed and maintained
    • Prioritization of accessibility for vulnerable road users
    • Responsive to growth and development
    • Responsive to environmental impact
    • Enhanced connectivity in the system
  • Do you support this Vision Statement and these Mobility Goals for North Grenville?
  • Question 2 – Evaluating Transportation Solutions

  • As part of the Mobility Master Plan, we will be proposing different transportation solutions—such as new road connections, transit service, or active transportation infrastructure. Based on municipal priorities, technical data, and previous community feedback, we have developed the following evaluation criteria to determine which projects provide the greatest benefits while minimizing negative impacts:

    Criteria Sub-Criteria
    Nature & Climate
    • Supports Mode Share Targets
    • Climate Adaptation and Resilience
    • Ecological Impact and Emissions
    Growth & Development
    • Access to Local Businesses
    • Supportive of Future Growth
    • Access to Employment Areas
    Mobility & Safety
    • Mitigation of Conflict Areas
    • Transportation Level of Service
    • Support for Active Modes
    Equity & Social
    • Supports Access for High Needs Areas and Vulnerable Users
    • Compliance with Heritage Policies
    • Connectivity to Key Destinations
    Feasibility & Management
    • Property Impacts
    • Economies of Scale
    • Operational and Capital Costs
  • Do you feel these criteria cover the most important factors for evaluating future transportation projects in North Grenville?
  • Active Transportation Network Problems and Alternatives

  • Question 3: Active Transportation 1: Active Transportation Problems

  • Rows
  • Question 4: Active Transportation 2: Candidate AT Solutions

The following images (and accompanying legend) illustrate all candidate or potential active transportation solutions / linkage which could be considered for inclusion in the MMP. These linkages reflect previously recommended projects by the municipality and the county as well as new linkages to address problems identified. The purpose of this project is to review and re-evaluate all previously proposed and new potential Active Transportation linkages with the intent of adjusting / removing where required. • Transit Network Problems and Alternatives

  • The technical analysis has identified several challenges facing North Grenville's future road, transit, and active transportation networks. For each problem, the project team has developed a range of potential "Alternative Solutions" to address the issue. These alternatives generally fall into three categories:

Do Nothing Do Nothing: This is the baseline. This scenario assesses what would happen if no changes are made to the existing vehicle fleet, routes, or days and hours of operation.
Service Enhancement Service Enhancement: These are operational upgrades designed to improve the availability, reliability, and reach of the transit system. Examples include increasing the number of transit vehicles operating at a given time, or expanding the operating hours to include evenings and weekends.
Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Transportation Demand Management (TDM): These are policies, programs and partnerships designed to change how, when, and where people travel to reduce overall traffic. In simple terms, it is about making alternative modes of travel (transit, active transportation, etc.) more convenient, affordable, and attractive so fewer people rely on personal vehicles. In the context of our transit network, this could involve investigating opportunities to bring a local taxi or ride-share service (like Uber) to North Grenville to fill service gaps.

  • Question 5: Transit 1: Local Transit within North Grenville

  • Problem Statement: Currently, local transit needs are met through an on-demand service model. However, public feedback indicates that this service faces reliability challenges (such as delays and no-shows) and has no late-night service.

  • Which of the following alternative(s) do you support to address the local transit issues? (Select all that apply)
  • Question 6: Transit 2: Commuter Transit outside of North Grenville

  • Which of the following alternative(s) do you support to address the inter-regional transit issues? (Select all that apply)
  • Thank you for participating in PART 1 of this survey. Your feedback is crucial in helping shape the future of the North Grenville.
