  • Applicants' Weekend - 23 & 24 Oct 2026

    All Acting applicants who are shortlisted after the first round of auditions, and who live in Aotearoa NZ or Australia, are expected to attend Applicants' Weekend in person. Acting applicants in other countries can opt for an online audition. Applicants for the Bachelor of Performing Arts (Production), Bachelor of Performing Arts (Design), and Costume and Set & Props Diplomas will have their interviews scheduled over this Friday and Saturday. We encourage you to attend in person, however you can choose to have your interview online if required.

    All applicants for these programmes must submit a portfolio of work (see Programme pages on the website for details about portfolio content). You can do this in a number of ways; insert a link in the section below to your website, Google drive, or other online platform, or directly upload your portfolio via the file upload button below (please note that it must be less than 15MB in size). If your portfolio is NOT complete yet, you can email your portfolio link to apply@toiwhakaari.ac.nz no later than Monday 12 October 2026.

    To complete your application we also need copies of the following documents; your birth certificate or passport, your most recent qualification or NZQA Record of Achievement, and a digital headshot (head and shoulders, passport-style). International applicants must also submit their proof of English language proficiency (if English is not your first language). You can upload these via the file upload button below (up to 15MB), or alternaively email them to apply@toiwhakaari.ac.nz if that is easier.
